This topic is close to our hearts here at SPARK as several of us have been personally touched by suicide and the impact it leaves behind. For the past year we have been thoughtfully discussing the link between our SPARK youth mentoring programs and suicide prevention. We know in our hearts, the loved ones we have lost, may still be here with us today, if they fully understood their mental health and resilience inside. With that said, please consider this invitation to follow us this month as we will be sharing a variety of ways to create awareness and prevention around suicide.
The SPARK Team would like to announce what we have coming up this month and throughout the end of the year in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness.
- SPARKING Hope through Personal Stories – Please look out for some of our personal blogs and podcasts we will be releasing every Friday in regards to surviving suicide and suicide loss. These will be personal stories and experiences from our team and a few guests sharing insights around overcoming the obstacles and impact of suicide.
- #BeThe1To Ask – Starting now until the end of 2021 and led by a SPARK mentor – we will be offering FREE coaching/mentoring sessions to anyone who needs support around this topic or mental health in general. This will include an hour session via Zoom. To request a session please email us at info@thesparkinitiative.com.
- Suicide Prevention Module is now being created to add to the topic-specific modules used with the youth we serve in our SPARK Mentoring Programs and will be released in January 2022! This will be available, free of charge to all SPARK teachers to utilize with the youth they serve and we plan to implement it at no cost to the youth we serve.

We couldn’t do that without your help. Thank you in advance for all your love and support.
