This program lays the foundation for emotional well-being and resiliency among elementary-aged youth. Students may recognize the fun, animated character from the young child curriculum, who introduced them to their ‘treasure’ or Spark, our metaphor for innate mental health and resilience. Over the course of 11 core lessons, young learners will have lots of fun learning to navigate emotions based on understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, behavior, and outcomes. Through games, experiments, and discussion, they will also explore wisdom/intuition, creativity, and confidence, amongst other age-relevant topics. Two additional optional lessons will build social skills related to community and anti-bullying. Students in this program have enjoyed the following results:
